HD Radio technology makes AM Stations have FM Station-like sound quality, while FM Stations are broadcast with CD-like sound quality.
- Unlike typical FM or AM transmission, HD Radio has crystal clear reception with low noise and no audio distortion.
More content, more listening options with Multicasting - Multicasting allows more channels to be accessed from your radio dial. HD Radio multicast channels can be listened to only by an HD Radio enabled stereo such as the KD-HDR50. These "Stations In Between the Stations" contain additional format options, music genre and talk radio options, and even experimental formats that have, until now, never been heard through other radio broadcast mediums.
- HD Radio broadcasting is completely free of charge--there are no monthly plans or subscription costs for this unique and exciting content.
- National coverage areas--HD Radio content is currently available in close to 200 major markets currently and rapidly expanding. For more information or to find HD Radio stations near you, log on to mobile.jvc.com or www.hdradio.com.
Conventional Radio Of course, sometimes you'll want to tune into non-HD content, so you can also dial in standard AM/FM stations. Tune into your favorite stations instantly with 18 FM and 6 AM presets (all of which can be used for HD stations if you choose). CDs and More The KD-HDR20 also features a CD player, which will play your favorite CDs and CD-R/RWs. A 3.5mm front panel auxiliary input is also included for use with iPods, MP3 players, or other external audio devices. Room to Grow The KD-HDR20's got the basics for a great system, but with a few additions you can expand your options. Add JVC modules for Bluetooth, iPod direct control, CD changers or SAT Radio to take your system to the next level. Wireless Remote A full-featured wireless remote is include for controlling receiver functions. GREAT HEAD UNIT February 24, 2010 Mike J. Galantic Have had this head unit for over a year. HD works great, great reception and great features. Only negative is no presets for changing radio stations. But what do you want for the price. Plays great and havent had any problems with it. GOod job JVC
Great Value, Great Sound February 7, 2010 Paul H. Coe Bought this radio for my 2007 Kia Sorento. It sounds great with the factory speakers giving them much more depth of sound than the factory piece of junk that was in there. Love the front input for my MP3 player. The other comments about how it is difficult to find the presets is somewhat true however, they are not impossible to figure out and once you do they are just fine. I had no trouble figuring out how to flip through the presets, my only difficulty was in setting them the first time as the manual was somewhat confusing. I spent a couple minutes on it and then was able to figure out the right combination of buttons.
My Review February 5, 2010 Jimmy (USA) I recently installed this after Xmas to replace my outdated Blaupunkt deck in my 4x4. Its made my old door speakers sound amazing compared to the old deck and the whole system sounds great now. The best thing about it is hooking my cell phone up with a small cord I bought at best buy to the Aux port and using it as an mp3 player. I haven't tried using the bluetooth yet with my phone but if its possible it'd be great to hear my conversation through the stereo. Controlling the sub woofer settings is easy and navigating through the settings is pretty straight forward, haven't preset the radio stations yet though...Also the HD radio is amazing and in my old truck local stations are crisp and clear and of course free. The HD sounds more clear than our brand new car in my beat up old truck, crazy. So far no problems and the price was right. I wouldn't have gone with another option if I had the chance.
Really good radio for the price February 3, 2010 Herbert J. Smith (Longmont, CO USA) These radio performs very well for a cheap price. I am very happy with it and the HD is really cool.
Great HD Radio February 1, 2010 Charles E. Lerner This radio was pretty easy to install. I had my friend put it in and it only took 45 minutes. Once it was in it sounded great. FM is CD quality and having all the HD channels is great.
